Hi there!
August 2nd, 2008 J.B. Dazen
Hey lads and lassies, just a quick note to let you all know that we’re still alive. And how! Last year was one of transformation. We had to say goodbye to Wim and Jan Pieter, who were replaced by Jaïr and Sebastiaan. But it didn’t end there. After having functioned as a trio since the start, we felt it was time to expand our sound. As a result, after a time of auditions and rehearsals, we feel it’s time to announce our new member Frank Kroon. Frank will reinforce us on keys and guitar.
With the band complete, and J.B. Dazen having a whole new batch of songs finished, new and exciting things are about to happen. Check back regularly in the coming months to see what we’re up to. Cause we’re definitely up to something.
We secretly tried out the new line-up at the Academy for Pop Culture in Leeuwarden on 3 July. Sorry for not informing you guys, but we felt we should start a bit low-key. The first chance for you all to see the brand new Postponers live is saturday 23 August, at Froskefest in Leeuwarden.
New Bass Player
April 13th, 2008 J.B. Dazen
The Postponers are happy to introduce their new bass player: Sebastiaan Herber. Our former bass player Jan Pieter Wijbenga could no longer combine the growing demands of the band with his other activities and decided to quit. We will miss his fine personality during rehearsals and gigs, although we’ll surely keep in touch as friends. Meanwhile, Sebastiaan has proven to be a worthy successor. The changing of band members has slowed down our development considerably in the last few months, so we’re pleased to leave that phase behind us and finally go full steam ahead again.
The Postponers open for Disco Pigs
April 5th, 2008 J.B. Dazen
The Postponers will be the opening band for all dates of Disco Pigs, 9 to 20 april at the Tryater in Leeuwarden. Disco Pigs? Never heard of that band? You’re right, it’s not a band. It’s an underground play based on the Irish movie of the same name. We’ve already seen a try-out and it’s definitely worth watching. So be there! For dates and times see the gigs page. For more info on Disco Pigs see their hyve. For tickets, go to the Tryater website.

Vera poster
March 2nd, 2008 J.B. Dazen
Local bands who get to play at the worldwide legendary underground club Vera here in Groningen, are always looking forward to their poster. Vera is one of the last clubs who design and print their own posters, and the designers are true artists. We’re very proud of our poster, which was designed by Kunny van der Ploeg. Check it out.
More Postponers enthusiasts
March 2nd, 2008 J.B. Dazen
This week we received a very positive review in the Groninger Studentenkrant. Go to the media page to read it. Also we were mentioned on ‘Marthijns Music-site’, a music enthusiast who was so kind to devote one of his monthly columns to us. No direct link here, just click this and then click on ‘Freaky Notes’ on the right. Thanks for the support!

Muziekjournaal.nl, an apparently new music blog has presented us as Next Big Thing. A very positive review about our album The Concept praises the variation between and within the songs. Go read the (Dutch) review here!
